Tohoku University Engineering Summer Program (TESP) is a 16-days international summer program designed to inspire engineering students from all over the world! TESP provides a series of lectures and hands-on activities on advanced topics. All courses are offered entirely in English for students in engineering fields. In addition, the program includes the cultural activities that expose participants to Japanese culture and allow them to enrich their academic experience.100 participants from around the world gather in Aobayama campus to share amazing moments every summer!

Collaborate with engineering students and young professionals from around the globe as you explore exciting topics such as Field and Space Robotics, Human-Robot Interaction, and more.
Explore the intricacies of microwave and optic wave engineering, with a focus on modeling, design, and measurement of wireless power transfer devices. Delve into topics such as solar-to-microwave power conversion, microwave-to-DC rectification, and wireless power transfer antennas. Engage in hands-on activities to develop a prototype system capable of generating solar power and wirelessly transmitting it via microwaves.
A journey delving into materials engineering, led by expert professors at Tohoku University. Participants choose from one lab from Structural Materials, Bio-materials, Quantum Materials and Green Materials. Engage in hands-on labs, explore industry visits to Akita prefecture, including a Metal Recycling Industry and a Japanese Sword Studio in Shiroishi city. Engineering students from Tohoku University will assist throughout.
Join TESP-ExTO, where international participants and Tohoku University students collaborate to explore Japan's future society. Engage in lectures, group projects, and fieldwork in English led by expert faculty from the School of Engineering. Create YouTube videos showcasing Japan's attractions and challenges. Open to students worldwide eager to explore Tohoku and Sendai, deepening cultural understanding.
