Tohoku University Engineering Short Program is a 10-day international program (January 14–23, 2026) designed to inspire future engineers from around the world! Through project-based learning and multicultural teamwork, participants will explore how engineering can drive innovation and social impact.
The program features company visits to industry leaders such as Toyota, an entrepreneurship keynote lecture by a startup founder, and opportunities to enhance presentation and problem-solving skills while experiencing Japan’s winter culture.

Program Goals
- Conduct effective customer and cultural investigation. You'll go beyond basic research to investigate real-world problems and needs by engaging with local communities and businesses.
- Enhance cross-cultural collaboration skills. Working with students from diverse backgrounds, you'll improve your ability to communicate, cooperate, and build mutual understanding while tackling a shared project.
- Generate innovative ideas. With company visits, lab tours, and experiences that blend your own investigations with local culture and advanced research, you'll learn to think creatively and come up with fresh solutions.
- Experience and enjoy Japanese winter culture. You'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in various aspects of Japanese culture. You will directly experience the snow and cold, which will provide a unique perspective.
- Develop compelling presentation skills. You'll learn key presentation skills, and in the final presentation, gain the confidence to share your ideas clearly and convincingly with others.
